Announcement from the City

We look forward to welcoming our permit groups back to our community centres in the coming weeks.   
On May 20th, 2021, the Province of Ontario announced a three-step roadmap to reopen, which will allow the reopening of recreation amenities in stages. We anticipate that we will be able to reopen our community centres for indoor permits in Step 3 for certain activities with health guidelines.

Booking Indoor Gymnasiums and Multipurpose Rooms at Recreation Centres

If individuals or groups are interested in booking indoor space this summer (from reopening date to September 5, 2021) when we are allowed to reopen, please contact the community centre you would like to book and submit your application with all the required documentation by July 9, 2021 to the community centre.

By submitting the application by July 9, the request will be reviewed in priority order and in accordance with our permit allocation processes.  Applications can be submitted after July 9, 2021 but will be considered on a first come first served basis.  Applicants will receive communication from our staff within 3 business days to confirm the receipt of your application and to discuss next steps.  To ensure efficient processing of permits, please ensure that the following documentation is completed in full and submitted with your request:

Please allow up to five business days following the release of provincial regulations regarding Step 3 for the processing of permits. Following an announcement by the Province confirming the date for City of Toronto to enter into Step 3, indoor permits for allowable activities will be issued.  However, only the activities allowed under provincial regulation will be authorized and groups will be asked to sign conditions of use accordingly.

Please note that we are currently operating summer camps, essential services and programs at certain community centres to assist with the pandemic efforts, including vaccination clinics and testing sites.  Availability at these centres may be limited.

If individuals/groups are interested in permitting indoor space for the Fall (September 7 – December 31, 2021), please submit applications by August 9, 2021.
